Notes

George White HAYES "Sr"

1.  McLemore, who is a descent of George,  listed George as being born in 1770, however, he later explains that George Hayes is last mentioned in Charlotte County Nov. 7, 1804 where James as his guardian is acting in his behalf in a legal suit.  The next year, both George and James payed taxes in Clarke County, Georgia.  This fixes the year of birth of George as 1784.   Census records in Clarke County in 1820, and Thomas County, Georgia in 1830/1840 agree with 1784, not 1770 as the year of his birth.

2.  George lived in Thomas County, Georgia.
