Col. Morgan Ap MORGAN "I"

1.  Morgan was educated in London, England during William the III's reign;...

2.  In 1707 he emigrated to the United States to Christiana, Delaware at age 19 (During Queen Anne's rule) and lived in Delaware for 20 years where he met Catherine.  He probably moved to Virginia in 1726.

3.  As an Ordained Chruch of England clergyman, he set up a Church in Westminster County, in 1727.

4.  He is credited with many "firsts" in West Virginia;  first permanent white settler, first church builder, first licensed tavern keeper, first Engineer in Supervision of the first public enterprise undertaken in the state...in building a road some 12 miles long.

5.   He died at Bunker Hill on the Morgan Plantation.

6.   Check 1790 Census Monongalia County, Virginia (West Virginia).


Catherine GARRETSON

1.  Catherine's date of birth may be 16 May 1692.


Morgan "Paddy Mod" MORGAN

1.  Morgan was born during an indian attack, while the family was on the way to the fort.  [Date could be 22 Jun 1774]

2.  He was short and heavyset.  

3.  He was a farmer & helped his grandfather David survey.

4.  He was blind in his last years, but still worked around the farm.  

5.  He is buried in the family cemetery at the farm on Fishing Creek, near Porter's Falls.
