Joseph S. GENTLE

1.  Joe Gentle was a Civil War Veteran - Co "H" 25 Regment NC Infantry & served during the Petersburg Campaign.  He was captured 1 Apr 1865 at the Battle of Five Forks in Virginia.  He was not released until late June and had to make his way home which inviolve approximately 114 miles of walking from Salisbury, North Carolina.

2.  Joe & Elizabeth were from Fletcher, Henderson, North Carolina.

Henry "Tuck" STEPP

1.  Enlisted @ age 19 in 1862 & was a Confederate Civil War soldier & served in the 39th N. C. Infantry Regiment


1.  Noma Lee reports that Ralph was buried at Ebenezer Church Cemetery
