Della Bell ABBOTT

Obit - - Della Bell Venable

    Della Bell Abott Stratton Venable passed away on October 31, 2004 at the age of 83.  She was born to Marion and Dellar Bell Abbott on November 16, 1920, N.E. of Allen, Oklahoma.
    Della attended high school in Spaulding, Oklahoma and married J. C. Stratton Venable on May 17, 1941 in Spaulding, Oklahoma.
    She worked at Lindsay Wal-Mart as a door greeter, cashier and sold Avon.  She thought of her Avon Sales route as a way to minister to people and lead them to the Lord.  Dellas was a member of the First Assembly of God of Lindsay, OK since 1954.  She received a plaque for teaching Sunday school for over 60 years.
    Della is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, six sisters, one great grandson Zackary Bell.  She is survived by her husband, J. C. Stratton Venable, three daughters, Nelsine Johnson and spouse Bill Johnson, Shirley Ann Allen and spouse, Gary Allen, Della Jaycene Morgan and spouse, Rev. Randy Morgan.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Bonita Burleson, Thresa Johnson, Michelle Wyatt, Alita Cooper, Jay Lee Johnson, Ryan Paul Morgan, eleven great-grandchildren, Krystl Rubino, Brandon Burleson, Alexander Burleson, Quinton Wyatt, Douglas Bell, Abigail Firth, Drayton Wyatt, Levi Cooper, Bailey Cooper, Weston Wyatt, and Austin Firth.  
     Della will be missed by all of the above along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
    Services for Della will be held at the First Assembly of God in Lindsay, OK on November 3, 2004 at 2:30 p.m.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the Venable family online at


Mack Raymond ABBOTT "Sr"

    ABBOTT, Mack Raymond, Sr. , 81, Tulsa, born April 17, 1915 to Marion and Dellar Bell Abbott near Holdenville, went home December 30, 1999.
    Mack left Spalding High School during the Depression to work for CCC in the early states of building Mohawk Park.
    Married Florence Turner of Kemp in 1939, who preceded him in death.  They had 2 children, Mack Raymond, Jr. and Gwendolyn Maxine Abbott Ritter.
    Retired 1977 after 34 years at Oklahoma Natural Gas.  A Christian at 12, was a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at Evangelistic Temple for many years, later became a member of Woodlake Assembly of God for over 25 years, served in a convalescent ministry and as an usher.  
     Mack married his sweetheart and best friend, Agnes Ryburn in 1985.  
     He is survived by : Agnes; sisters, Rosetta Williams and Della Venable;  his 2 children and stepson, Larry K. Oliver, Sr.; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-granchildren; and numberous nieces, nephews and extended family.
    Family and firiends time at Moores Eastlawn from 3-5 p.m.., Sunday.  Service on Monday at Wodlake at 10 a.m.   Donate to Woodlake Missions fund in lieu of flowers.  Moore's Eastlawn Chapel, 622-1155.
