Louis Francois HENNEQUIN

1.  Louis immigrated to the U. S. in 1881 from Belfort (Normandy) France.  

2.  He and his father were watchmakers.  

3.  His brothers became priests.

4.  He served in the U. S. Army in the 1880's

5.  Married in Oregon, in 1891

6. He joined the Indian War and became a citizen.

7.  1930 Napa, California Census - Veteran's Home (Age 68)


Robert Irwin HOGUE

Robert Irwin Hoge [sic] was born Sep 13, 1846 in Butler County, Ohio and passed away at his home in Tingley, Iowa, Sabbath evening Feb 3, 1929, aged 82 years, 4 months, and 20 days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Nacny Joanna Foster in Warren County, Ill. on Feb 20, 1873.  She passed away March 25, 1916.  To this union were born 8 children, all living except the eldest son, Alonzo F. who passed away Oct 4, 1876.  The rest of the children are John A. of River Falls Wisconsin;  Martin I. of Tarkio, Missouri;  Harold C. of Hutchison, Kansas, Bertha W., Mrs. Ethel Alexander, Robert G., and Hugh W. of Tingley.

The family came from Ill. to Ringgold County in 1879 and resided on a farm south of Mt. Ayr until 1893 when they moved near Tingley and have since resided in and near here.

Mr. Hogue was the youngest of the five brothers who served during the Civil War.  He inlisted [sic] in Company, I, 50th Ill. infantry for 18 months or until the close of the war.

He united with the United Presbyterian church in early manhood and was a faithful member.

Mr. Hogue is th eldest of a family of 11 children.  His younges brtother, Joseph M. passed away Jan 16, 1928 at Albany, Mo.


Nancy Joanna FOSTER

Nancy J. Foster was born in Warren County, Illinois 3-16-1853 and passed away at their home in Tingley, Iowa on the mornng of March 25, 1916 aged 63 years and 9 days.  She was the 3rd daughter of John A. and Martha J. Foster and was left motherless when she was a small child.

She was untied in marriage to Robert Irwin Hog [sic] 2-20-1873 in Warren County, Ill.   To this union were born 8 children -- all living except the oldest son, Alonzo F. who died when about 3 years of age.  They are Bertha W. of Tingley, John A. of St. Paul, Minn;  Martin I. of Tarkie [sic] Missouri;  Harold C. of Hutchison, Kansas, Ethel A. of Tingley, Iowa;  Robert G. of Slater, Wyoming and Hugh W. of Tingley.  All were present at the funeral services.  

The family came to Ringgold County in the spring of 1879 and resided on a farm south of Mt. Ayr, until 1893 when they moved near Tingley, and have since resided in and near here.

Besides her husband and children, she leaves sisters, Mr. Elizabeth McClanahan of Mt. Ayr and Mrs. Margaret McKee of Sterling, Kansas, 2 grandsons, George and Herbert Hogue of Tarkio, Missouri and a host of realatives and friends to mourn her loss.

Funeral services were held Mondy afternoon at 2:15 in U. P. church conducted by Rev. T. R. Sikens, assisterd by Rev Peter Parker.  Interment in Tingley cemetery.


Alonzo F. HOGUE

1.  Died at about 3 years of age.


John A. FOSTER

John A. Foster, an old resident of Warren County died at his home in Arkansas City, Kansas, 3 Apr 1893.  He was born in South Carolina 7 Nov 1818.  He came to Warren County when quite young and resided here until the fall of '88, when he removed to Kansas,  He was twice married, first to Martha J. Struthers and to them were born three daughters and one son, the son dying in infancy.  The daughters are Mrs. Frank McClanahan of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Mrs Martin McKee of Gerlaw, Illinois and Mrs. Robert Hogue of Tingley, Iowa.  He was united in marrage the second time to Mrs. Rachel Rodger Mitchell who is left to mourn his loss.  She has one son, Dr. J. A. Mitchell of Arkansas City, Kansas,  One sister, Mrs. Jane McCrery of Gerlaw survies him.  Mr. Foster had been an invalid for thepast few years, but his last fatal illness was of but about ten days duration.  He bore his afflictions and marked patience and was ofter heared to say "My blessings far outnumber my afflictions".


Martha Jane STRUTHERS

1.  The proof of Martha Struther's parentage is found in the Spring Grove Church records, haveing been admitted to the congrgation in 1842, "daug of William & Margaret Struther & 1st wife of John Foster.
