Barnie Judson Dale "Mutt" HAYES

1.  Barnie had a stroke 21 Jun 1986 on the right side.

2.  On 15 Sep 1986 he had a porstatectomy and on 11 Feb 1987 he had a pacemaker installed.

3.  Up until his death he was known as "Bionic Barnie".

4.  Barnie had operated a plumbing business in Lovington, NM in the 1950s and 1960s.

5.  He was a lifetime member of the Lovington Masonic Lodge No. 46.

6.  He moved to the Fort Bayard area in 1964.

7.  Uncle Charlie has a picture of Barnie playing the guitar.


Millard R. C. "Hoot" HAYES

1.  Millard R.C. Hayes was born in Farmersville, Texas.

2.  He graduated from high school in 1940 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the battleship USS Tennessee (BB-43).   He participtated in the battle at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, as well as other World War II actions in the Pacific.

3.  After receiving an honorable discharge from the naval service he was employed in varied fields including plumbing, law enforcement and automotive repair.  

4.  He settled in Eunice in 1953 and worked for the next 35 years as a private businessman and for 13 years served as a magistrate judge.

5.  Due to health, he moved to Conchas Dam in 1986 where he began a new career in backhoe operations and septic systems.

6.  R.C. died on February 14, 2002, and was cremated.  Graveside services were held on 3 Mar 2002 at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari directing.

    Former Lovington resident J. P. Hayes, 62, of Dimmit, Texas died Saturday, Sept 7 in Veteran's Hospital in Amarillo, Texas after an extended illness.
    Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m. Texas time at Resthaven Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock.
    He is survived by two children, Brenda Cox of Victoria, Texas and Jed Hayes of Dallas, Texas;  one sister Alice Joyce Smith of Oklahoma 'city;  seven brothers, Barnie Hayes of Ft. Bayard, N.M., Marion C. Hayes of Dallas, R. C. Hayes of Eunice, Charles Hayes of Lovington, Johnnie Hayes of Lovington, Jearl Hayes of Hobbs, Cleo of Dimmit and and by four grandchildren.
    Active and honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews of the deceased.

Charles Clayton "Chile" HAYES

1.  Charles graduated from Farmersville High School in 1945.

2.  Charles served his country and was in both the Air Police and the Military Police.  He was stationed in Japan and down in San Antonio, Texas.
