The Houston Daily Union Volume II, Issue 110 - 22 Jul 1870, pg. 2 Letter from Fayette County, Ls Grange, July 1, 1870.  Editos Houston Union:  Crops in Fayette County are exceedingly fine.  The corn corp is made, and cotton prospects were never better;  much of the latter is now opening.  In this part of Uncle Sam's domain there is litle or no news, save now and then a killing affair - not to be found in our local paper.  The last instance of this kind happened on Tuesday night, at the residence of a lady named Robertson, on the Oso Road, about twelve miles from here.  It appears that a Mr. Needham married Mrs. Robertson's daughter.  They lived unhappily, separated, and Mrs. Needham returned to her mother.  On Tuesday night, after Mrs. Robertson and family retired, Needham attemptied to force an entrance through the window, at the time flourishing his six-shooter and threatening to kill all the inmates.  A little boy about fourteen years old, seized a double-barreled gun and shot Needham while in the act of entering.  The boy, after exanubatuibm was orioerkt duscgarged,

* Note:  #1  Lenora's mother's name was erroneoursly given as Robertson and it should have been Robinson.

* Note #2    This article raises the question of the birth of Mary Mabgby Needham to Enoch & Lenora.  Did they reconcile after the shooting?
