Rev. Abraham H. KUYKENDALL

1.  James Kuykendall reports alternate place of birth for Abraham as Rutherford County, North Carolina.

2.  Abraham was a Baptist Preacher.

3.  He moved to Texas in about 1831.  They lived in Nacogdoches, but, eventually moved West to Erath County, Texas, where Mary died 15 Jun 1879.

4.  He died between 20 Nov 1848 date of Will and 26 Dec 1848 Will proven in Burleson County, Texas.

Mary Hayden LINDLEY

1.  James Kuykendall reports that Mary's surname was "Lindsay".

Benjamin Staysner KUYKENDALL

1.  Could the middle name be STRACENER?


1.  Ephriam Herriott reports that this family resided on two farms, "Sunnyside" and "Rebel's Retreat".... both 999 acres each on Patterson Creek in Mineral County near what was known as Reese's Mill.  The tracts came from a Fairfax grant to Abraham Johnson who gave lodging at present-day Sunnyside to the young George Washington when he was a surveyor.

Claude Lawson KUYKENDALL

1.  Claude immigrated to present day Alberta, Canada, in 1903.


1.  Nathaniel was one of the foremost men in the valley of the "South Branch", both in business and in relation to education, morals and in a social way.

2.  He was closely identified with various public enterprises,  He was Superintendent of the Eastern Division of the Northwestern Turnpike Road, and had much to do with the construction of that great highway of the early times and the building of the bridges along its course, among these was the one across the South Branch of the Potomac, commonly called the "South Branch Bridge".
