1.  Caroline may have been a "Hollingsworth" according to Bobby R. Huggins book.


Victor Anton HAVEL "Jr"

1.  Victor had the material that his mother, Elizabeth, had researched for over 30 years into a book called, "The Hollingsworths of Knox County Indiana" and provided this writer a copy of it.


Robert Joseph MC MINN "II"

1.  Occupation:  Farmer


Sarah HARLAN

1.  The History and Genealogy of the Harlan Family by Alpheus. H. Harlan,  published in 1914 accounts for all the children of this marriage.  He researched the book from 1881 to 1912.


William W. HARLAN "Sr"

1.  William left a Will Nov 1774, wherein he bequeaths Sarah "the sum of five shillings currant money of Pennsylvania".


Stephen CHANDLER

1.  Edith Reynolds reports that Stephen was buried about 3 miles from Frankfort, Patterson Creek, Hampshire, Virginia..........[Hampshire County is in West Virginia but Hamton County is in Virginia]


Elizabeth MC MINN

1.  Elizabeth & Stephen relocated to Hamshire County, Virginia.


Joel BAILY "Sr"

1.  Noma Lee McMinn Taylor's records lists a "Margaret Baily", however, this writer seems to think that would have been the Margaret McMinn born 22 Aug 1756 that was born to Robert Sr. & Sarah Harlan, who died in infancy.


Gov. Joseph MC MINN

1.  Joseph & Rebecca moved to Tennessee.

2.  Joseph was the 4th Governor of Tennessee and served from 1815 - 1821.

3.  After the death of her mother, Joseph adopted his brother John's daughter Hetty.

4.  When Joseph was Senator in Tennessee about 1809, McMinnville, in WarrenCounty was named in his honor, later these being two separate locations.

5.  Governor Joseph Mc Minn died in 1824 while working at his desk in the Indian Affairs Office he had created and directed, after losing his last election bid in 1821, and died in Calhoun, Mc Minn County, Tennessee and is buried in Presbyteian Church Yard with a tall monument for his tombstone.  No other McMinns are buried there, nor his wife, for they were separated, after losing a case for divorce which he attempted by Petition to the Tennessee Legislature.

6.  On a leaf of Joseph’s Bible the following was found, “Joseph McMinn Bible; bought of David Wendlo, January 1819; price , $16.00.”

7.  After the governor’s death, through a flaw in the wording of his Will which he intended to leave his property to his adopted daughter, Hetty, she was cut off and the property was all put up and sold at public auction and the proceeds turned over to the state of Tennessee.  The old Bible was bought by Hetty McMinn Morrison and passe from her to her daughter, Martha Ann Morrison Knox, and thus to its present owner, Mary Knox Harle. [Mr. Frank Harle of Cleveland]

8.  The record of Joseph McMinn’s marriages, his wifes’ deaths and records concerning his daughter, Jane and his adopted daughter Hetty, are all in the same hand writing, evidently that of Mr. McMinn himself.  The records concerning the birth and death of the children of Hetty McMinn Morrison all written by another person, while the deaths of Joseph McMinn and Robert Morrison are recorded in two entirely different scripts.  Mrs. Harle identifies the writing in which Governor McMinn’s death is recorded as that of her father, Thomas J. Knox.

9.  Paragraphs 5 - 8 were submitted by Susan from the “Tennessee Bible Records and Marriage Bonds”.

10.  The Family Bible records show Joseph & Nancy were married at South West Point, Roane County, Tennessee.


Hannah COOPER

1.  Hannah died in her own dwelling of an inward inflammation, which, terminated her life after five days of illness.

2.  She lived 49 years 8 months & 7 days.

Mary Rebecca KINCAID

1.  Rebecca Kincaid and Joseph's daughter died just a few months apart along with some of his house servants, from serious illness, [nervous fever of 29 days continuation] at age 21 years 9 months.
