Kay Watkins, 48

Leola Kay Watkins, 48, of Hendersonville died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, in her residence following a sudden illness.

She was the daughter of Gladys Leola McMinn Watkins of Hendersonville, and the late W. C. Watkins.  She was also preceded in death by her loving grandparents, James Everette and Idalane Harper McMinn, with whom she resided for many years.  

She attended West Henderson High School and Blue Ridge Community College.

She was a member of Locust Grove Baptish Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by an uncle;  and several aunts and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Locust Grove Baptist Church.  The Revs. Dan Blackwell and Harry L. Meadows will officiate.  A committal service will be held prior to the service time Monday Locust Grove Baptist Church cemetery.  The Rev. Bill Landreth will officiate.

Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors and Cremation Memorial Center is in charge of the arrangements.
